This is a piece of Classical Greek literature, attributed to the poet Hessiod.

The Theogony is the accounting of the origin of the gods, beginning with the creation of the cosmos, progressing through the rulership of Heaven, Kronos, and finally Zeus. This is also the record of the Titanomachy, the war with the Titans.

Works and Days, also written by Hessiod, is a compilation on moral and ethical living, combined with more myths of the early days of the gods and their creation of the world.
